Relationships often bring us comfort, security, love and joy.
And relationships are often difficult. It is the mission of this Center to help you build happy and loving relationships. Our Center is also dedicated to helping people recognize, understand and heal childhood wounds which result from many types of family stress, conflict, loss, and the serious injuries resulting from abuse and abandonment.
All types of relationships – couples, families, co-workers, friends – have ups and downs. Many relationships are in trouble because of so much conflict and distance. The powerful feelings we experience in relationships are universal. We may react with blame, anger, and distance. Our partners (spouse, lover, friend, child, etc.) react to us, and this creates a relationship dance. A dance that is all too familiar – and painful.
And now there is very good news! Counseling and therapy can heal those injuries and help you to create new, vital, loving relationships – including your relationship with yourself. There is a new science of love, based on medical findings from the past 15 years. This research shows us that we are, in fact, “hard wired” for a deep level of emotional attachment to others. The “need” for close, loving relationships is not only normal, but necessary! And now we can learn how to improve our relationships by using simple tools derived from modern brain science and the study of happy relationships.
Richard Loebl, Director of this Center, also specializes in helping men who sabotage relationships and careers. Richard uses proven techniques to empower men to make their relationships work better, and to be more successful and happy at work and at home.
We believe that all of us have the ability to change, to learn, and to grow. Richard's Who’s In Charge? model can help you discover and manifest your personal strengths, talents and gifts - to create strong, loving partnerships, and success in life. And to conquer addictions, anxiety and depression.
Dana Risucci is Director of Chemical Dependency services at our Center. She specializes in working with individuals and families in the early stages of recovery. She also specializes in working with people who are “dually diagnosed” (addiction, along with emotional difficulties). Dana, along with Richard Loebl, have many years of experience in the field of addictions and recovery. It is the mission of this Center to provide caring, compassionate services to the courageous individuals and families who chose the path of recovery.
The Relationship Center Of South Florida also recognizes the damaging impact of trauma, particularly during childhood and adolescence, on so many of us. Abandonment and abuse – emotionally, physically, and sexually – often result in emotional turmoil. The victims – now survivors – often develop unhealthy coping patterns and behaviors, such as addictions, toxic relationship patterns, and other forms of self-sabotage. We specialize in working with these innocent survivors. It is our mission to help people empower themselves. To thrive, and to find joy. Not just survive.
Our Center includes counselors and therapists who also specialize in working with people who suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, and nutrition-related medical disorders which have an emotional and psychological component. It is our mission to use the most up-to-date methods, based on cutting edge research, to help people with concern, compassion, and unconditional care.
